LibDems in Wealden have responded enthusiastically to the introduction of Neighbourhood Watch E-mail - a fast free two-way service for anyone on line. LibDem Campaigner Laura Murphy says

"This is an excellent scheme. I subscribe and have already heard about two computer scans which at first glance look very convincing. It's a cheap and easy way to keep yourself safe."

The scheme has been pioneered with Sussex Police in Hastings and Rother where it is entering its 6th year and there are over 5000 homes and businesses participating. It has received a RESPECT award from the Government.

The scheme, which is complementary to any existing Neighbourhood Watch schemes, issues  E-mail information to your computer from:

  • Sussex Police re crime, crime prevention, traffic accident appeals etc
  • The Sussex Police Authority re news, meetings, surveys etc
  • Trading Standards re Scams, rogue traders etc
  • Community Safety messages from The Safer Wealden Partnership, Wealden   District Council, East Sussex County Council and East Sussex Fire and Rescue

The scheme is two-way and allows members to respond quickly with information that could help Sussex Police.

All messages are sent out as BCC  (blind copy) so your e-mail address remains confidential.

To join the Wealden scheme please e-mail (please advise your postcode and a contact phone number)
